Critical Design and Gaming at Hawkins High School
Thanks to donations of PlayStation 4s from Activision Blizzard, the Critical Design and Gaming School (CDAGS) at Augustus F. Hawkins High in Los Angeles are putting devices to use in their Learning Lab, which specializes in learning interventions for. students with special needs.
Consoles and headsets are available in each CDAGS classroom to support teachers with making connections between the games students love and the content they teach, which is critical for their gaming and design pathway.
Consoles for their Imagination Lab make space for play and experimentation.
Headsets are being used by their Esports Team, and consoles are available for each staff member so they can be knowledgeable about the world of video games and get on our students' level.
They’re even gifting a console for each member of the graduating class of 2021 in celebration and recognition of their resilience, as they spent the final year and half of their high school career in distance learning.
We’re so grateful for their work and partnership in providing opportunities for students and staff to connect learning and play.
