Looking back at 2021 and forward into 2022

Looking back at 2021

At reWerk, our mission is to decrease the digital divide and close the opportunity gap for BIPOC and low-income communities. While the majority of our donations are tech, with laptops, monitors and other equipment getting a second life with deserving students and community members – we also facilitate furniture donations, which go toward creating learning and community spaces. Last year, we worked with some incredible partners to help us work toward that goal.

With help from our corporate and nonprofit partners, we made a massive impact on our communities.

Looking into the future

We’re aiming to expand our impact beyond donations of used products. To create meaningful equity in tech and truly close the digital divide, communities in need deserve to have access to the same tech resources as everyone else. With that in mind, we are working on sourcing new tech equipment in addition to used/upcycle-able goods, and redoubling our efforts on fundraising to turbocharge this goal.

We’re also building out the reWerk marketplace, which allows nonprofit partners to quickly and easily see and request new products as they become available for donation. We’re currently piloting this program, but have already had nonprofit partners reserve and receive laptops and chairs within 2 days!

We’re humbled by the opportunity to continue serving our communities and working with amazing partners in this space, and we’re energized and ready to keep the good going.
